There are schemes to reintroduce wolves into the Scottish Highlands. Which is an idea I like. There are the usual protests from walkers and grouse and deer shooters (and farmers). But considering the latter would doubtless claim outrageous amounts of compensation for any livestock allegedly lost to wolves, that the deer have to be culled ayway, and a walker or two more or less doesn't really matter, I can't see a problem.
I read about that on the BBC online.
I guess we will have to wait and see, as you know the Scottish Highlands is nearly all private estates these days.
But they are after all one of our native animals, so I think it would be nice if a small group were re-introduced to see how they do.
